If a picture
is worth
1k words,
what is a video worth?

You have surely heard the phrase “A picture is worth a thousand words”.  The question is, if a picture is worth a thousand words, what is a video worth?  Unlike still images (i.e. photos), video offers movement, which increases engagement…even when there is no audio.  Audio also enhances engagement.  Allow us to illustrate an example of restaurant marketing, where a professional picture is shared via social media.  We will assume the image is a great shot, edited by a pro in hi-resolution.  Let’s also assume it inspires a couple of paying clients and even yields a profit (ROI).

A few years ago, Cisco’s forecasts showed that online video would account for 69% of consumer internet traffic.  Recent forecasts show that video will continue to increase and account for 80% of traffic in 2019.  Photos may be a common type of post on social media, however, a recent survey showed that almost 85% of professional marketing firms use video content within their strategies, and more than half of small business owners have also invested in creating videos.  Additionally, 25% of both, professional marketers and small business owners feel they are trailing the competition when it comes to video marketing.  Are you investing in a video for your marketing and advertising?
