Non-Profits Breakthru
Boost your organization’s mission
with digital media
This ‘Christmas in Summer’ event was actually in addition to the ‘Christmas Breakthru’ event. Every year BreakthruVideo organizes something special during the holiday season with one main objective…give.
During one particular Christmas Breakthru, we partnered with the Miami Marlins and others in our network to give to families in the Miami Rescue Mission, an organization that helps the homeless and we’ve helped throughout the years. Superbowl Champion, Antonio Robinson, was invited to be the keynote speaker to the needy families. The families invited knew we were having a toy drive for their children, but they didn’t know we had another surprise up our sleeves.
We purchased quite a few tickets to the Yankees game that was scheduled for the following year. Being we also have a relationship with the Marlins, we partnered with them to coordinate the Christmas in Summer event to be an invitation for those same families we had invited to the Christmas Breakthru.
Envision that it is you hosting the Christmas in Summer event with a conference room filled with people in need. You give all of the children gifts, and just before the event concludes, you get on the microphone and inform the crowd that they are all invited to a Yankees/Marlins game. That in and of itself, was the highlight. As a bonus, the Marlins granted some of the children with on-field passes for batting practice.
BreakthruVideo did all the work with acquiring consent forms from all parties, and the necessary permission from the Marlins legal team. Additional duties included, booking the video shoot crew, running point for media buying/scheduling ads on TV and online networks, overseeing digital content, final cuts for the production, managing event schedule, etc.
As is often the case with many projects, when there are numerous clients or sponsors, if each require their own edits and branded digital content, it adds to the editing and delivery process. Also, digital content differs for each network. A TV spot is usually 30 to 60 seconds in length. If it’s on the web, that same video can be extended, and if it’s on Instagram, the duration may vary from other social sites, such as Facebook. Further, each network has specific compression standards, which require the exporting of a greater number of digital files.
Assuming the digital media is meant for TV, it is a 16×9 aspect ratio (longer horizontally). If the content is going to be shared on a commercial display within a shopping mall, the aspect ratio is likely 9×16 (longer vertically). In other words, if you were to capture the video for TV use, that same video would be sideways if you placed it in the shopping mall display. BreakthruVideo will work on all those details for your organization. Call 786.999.8229 to get started.
