How to Increase Email Clicks
What is the average attention span when an email is opened?
An email has about 10 seconds to capture the attention of the recipient…and that is of course, assuming the content is actually engaging. That leads to the next question; What content is most engaging?
There are just a few kinds of content that can be included within an email. There is copy content (i.e. written words), photos (static images), audio and video. For obvious reasons, the moving images within videos capture the eye, offering greater engagement than static photos and differ in the investment of resources.
Then there is the GIF file.
The GIF is usually more affordable to create, has no sound, and very short (maximum of 6 seconds). The upside of the GIF is the motion of the images, and perhaps more importantly, this file type loads without having to press play. For this post, a larger sized GIF file was used being it is the only visual image shared, and the larger the file, the longer the upload time. However, smaller files in both duration and display can be used, which will increase upload time and scoring via search engines (e.g. Google), and viewing ability as well.
If you have read this far, the quality of the content of this post, which includes a GIF, proves all of the above information to be true and correct. =)
